Another motoring story from Auto Windscreens
A man returned to his car recently to find a fine for £40 attached to his windscreen as he and his wife had accidentally parked in a space designated for those with disabilities.
Les Potter wrote in a letter to the Shropshire Star that his wife had parked in the space at Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital by mistake as a thick layer of snow meant that the couple could not see the special markings.
He was visiting the hospital as he had badly injured his leg and knee and was unable to walk more than a few metres at a time.
"I will pay more attention to which space I choose next time. And I hope that in future the car park staff ensure the car park is cleared of snow more efficiently," Mr Potter wrote in his letter.
He then went on to wish everyone a merry Christmas, with the exception of the hospital's parking staff.
Last month, fire fighter Stuart Hall told the South Wales Echo that he had been given a parking fine after his van broke down in a bus stop.
