If it's news, it's from Auto Windscreens, the innovators in Auto Window glass.
Motorists should check car windscreen wipers for wear and replace them if necessary as driving conditions worsen in the winter months, according to the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI).
The RMI said that the winter can be bad news for motorists as shorter daylight hours, bad weather and worse conditions on roads conspire to make driving tiring, unpleasant and sometimes even dangerous.
Motorists are advised to use a de-icer or a scraper on their windscreens on cold mornings and to carry both of these with them in the vehicle.
The RMI also advised drivers to check that the car windscreen wash is not clogged, that the bottle is topped-up for use and that an additive is used to stop it freezing.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is also urging people to be more careful and to pay more attention on the roads now that the clocks have gone back and daylight hours are shorter.
