Another motoring story from Auto Windscreens
Mumbai bus operator Best has been told to remove advertisements from its vehicles' car glass.
The central division of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) asked Best to remove the advertisements from the windows of the 262 air-conditioned buses as they are in violation of transport department guidelines, DNA India reports.
Traffic rules state that the windscreen and rear window of every vehicle have to let through at least 70 per cent of light and side windows must allow at least 50 per cent to get through.
However, most of Best's air-conditioned vehicles are covered in huge advertisements.
"Due to this, the commuters inside the bus can see outside, however those outside can't see what's inside easily. This is against the transport department rules," said MP Jadhav, of the RTO's central division.
Last month, the German Herald reported that a large spring had flown from a car and damaged the windscreen of a bus in Essel, north Germany.
