The all-new Mazda5, which has large panels of tinted car glass on each side, has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
Mazda's updated version of the popular vehicle has rear sliding doors and can include up to seven seats.
The car also has greater fuel efficiency due to its low-drag Nagare Flow design.
Hideki Matsuoka, Mazda5 programme manager, said: "In approaching development of the all-new Mazda5 our team aimed to create a new C-MAV that combines superb practicality with the superior environmental performance these modern times demand and a new expression in stylish design."
The 2010 Mazda5 has a newly-developed 2.0-litre DISI petrol engine and an approximate 15 per cent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions compared to the 2.0-litre petrol model it replaces.
Earlier this month in America, the all-new Honda CR-Z, with a split-level rear car glass hatch, made its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
