Two windscreens smashed by 'ice-ball' throwing youths
Another motoring story from Auto Windscreens
Two car windscreens were smashed in "missile attacks" on motorists on two consecutive days earlier this month.
Police are now patrolling bridges over the M61 in Kearsley, Bolton, following the attacks, which took place on January 10th and 11th, the Bolton News reports.
One of the victims, who did not wish to be named, told the newspaper that youths threw a snowball from a bridge and it hit the bottom corner of his windscreen, causing a big crack through the car glass.
Police believe that the snowballs may have contained ice, stones or other solid objects.
Sergeant Michael Jennings, told the newspaper: "The people doing this are putting lives at risk. They are targeting innocent members of the public who are simply going about their day-to-day business."
At the start of January, the South Wales Echo reported a similar incident in which youths caused a delivery van driver to seek a windscreen replacement after throwing a snowball at his car glass from the Rhiwbina Hill bridge over the M4.
