Why we love Pilkington… the perfect partnership explained this Valentine’s Day!
Choosing or changing partners is a big decision so when we, Auto Windscreens, decided to start a relationship with Pilkington, we had to be sure the glass manufacturer measured up to our high standards and expectations.
The relationship has blossomed! Here are just few of the reasons why we love working with them:
• One of the world’s top three for vehicle glass
In a nutshell, Pilkington is one of the world’s largest automotive glass manufacturers and suppliers. It serves the Original Equipment (OE), Automotive Glass Replacement (AGR) Aftermarket and Specialised Transport sectors.
Its focus is on advanced technology, continuous improvement and standardisation – all synonymous with Auto Windscreens’ own business goals.
• No substandard glass, just quality
Pilkington is an authority on vehicle glass and the brand is associated with technical excellence and service in the glass industry. Pilkington invented the float glass system here in the UK and it is now the process used to make all automotive glass across the world.
Knowing that the company works to such excellent standards means we can rest assured that the service and products we receive fully meet our requirements and are safe for our customers.
To give you an idea of how widely Pilkington glass is used, of all vehicles built last year, around one in three contained OE glazing manufactured by them.
• A sustainable company we can rely on
With over 15,000 employees in 14 countries, we know Pilkington is a secure company that is prepared for the complexities the future glass industry will bring. Glazing is becoming increasingly advanced and we as a sector need to fully understand how this might impact us and our customers. Pilkington supports us in future-proofing our business as much as its own.
• Tailored solution just for us
Pilkington has worked with Auto Windscreens to create an effective, bespoke wholesale stock delivery process that ensures 98% of glass is available the next day and more advancements are planned to improve the ordering system further. Its support has meant we have been able to improve our customer service, in-house processes and overall operations.
95% of all the glass we use is currently supplied by Pilkington and we expect this to increase as our strategic partnership with the company continues to advance alongside our supply chain needs.
