Auto Windscreens launches summer competition to find the UK’s ultimate “Grass Technician”.

If you’re someone who takes pride in a freshly mown lawn – those perfect stripes, the neatly trimmed edges, and the smell of summer in the air – we’ve got the perfect competition for you.

This summer, we’re celebrating the UK’s lawn lovers with a fun and light-hearted photo competition on Facebook - we’re calling it ‘Grass Vs Glass’.

Wait – what’s the link between grass and glass?

Believe it or not, windscreen damage caused during grass cutting is more common than you might expect. When strimmers or lawnmowers hit loose stones or gravel, those bits can flick up and chip or crack nearby vehicle glass – especially if the car is parked close by. It’s something our technicians see more often than you’d think.

And that’s not the only link. We couldn’t resist a bit of wordplay – after all, we’re proud of our expert glass technicians, so we thought it was about time we found the UK’s finest grass technician too.

How to enter

From 16 June to 30 August 2025, we’re inviting people to share a photo of their freshly cut lawn on Facebook for a chance to win.

Each month, we’ll pick our favourite lawn photo – whether it’s mown with military precision, filled with wildflower borders, or just a well-kept patch you’re proud of.

Here’s how to take part:

• Like the competition post on our Facebook page
• Comment on the post with a photo of your freshly cut lawn
• Include the hashtag #GrassVsGlass in your comment

It’s free to enter, and winners will be chosen at the end of June, July and August.

The prizes

Each month, one lucky winner will receive:

• A £50 One4all voucher (which you could spend on garden gear… or something else entirely!)
• A limited edition “Grass Technician” t-shirt – one of a kind, and not available anywhere else

So, whether you’re a weekend mower, a passionate gardener, or just someone who likes showing off their outdoor space, now’s your time to shine.
