BetaSeal-it!

Auto Windscreens technician attaching a rear view mirror

Further to our approval of new urethane (or adhesive), Dupont’s BETASEAL™ 1585, earlier this year, we’ve now rolled it out across our North Scotland, South Scotland and North East service centres.

Ever mindful of reducing waste, before ordering for all areas, we’ll be using up stocks of our previous urethane, BETASEAL™ 1580, over the next month. We anticipate all service centres will be taking delivery of the new product by May.

BETASEAL™ 1585 is proving popular among the technicians already using it, thanks to its firmer viscosity, which increases the ‘grab time’ when re-fitting interior components to glass, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology, like sensors and cameras. This is particularly important when fitting cameras onto some brackets, as fixings can be very tight, and if the urethane doesn’t have sufficient time to ‘grab’, there is a risk of pushing the windscreen away from the urethane when replacing devices.
