As a proud member of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), this quarter we’ve attended a number of its industry events, including the Regional Forum in Liverpool in June, which highlighted how companies are responding to the development of the UK’s EV capability, as well as its ‘MOT Reform’ workshop in London in April.

We also recently attended the SMMT International Automotive Summit in London, where the agenda addressed some of the key issues for the automotive industry. Discussions focused on the industry roadmap for the net zero transition, how to improve the UK’s competitiveness and compete against fierce global competition, and the opportunities that will arise for businesses that seize the moment and innovate now for the future. There were also panel discussions throughout the day focusing on the market, technology, and people.

We’ve renewed our subscription to Thatcham’s escribe database, with offers detailed technical information on makes and models of vehicles to support our technicians’ knowledge, particularly during ADAS calibrations. We also visited Thatcham’s campus recently, to tour its research and development facility in Berkshire.
