Auto Windscreens is halving customer drive-away times, following a rigorous trial of Dow Automotive Systems’ BETASEAL™ 1580 vehicle glass adhesive.

The product has been rolled out across the majority of the automotive glass repair company’s UK network, after an extensive two-month testing and evaluation period to assess suitability. All technicians will be using the adhesive by the end of January. Use of BETASEAL™ 1580 means the windscreen replacement turnaround time for customers is much quicker, which is especially important for those who choose to wait at one of Auto Windscreens’ fitting hubs while work on their vehicle is carried out.

Tony Green, Auto Windscreen’s Technical and Innovation Manager, said: “Feedback and analysis of usage out in the field has proved that BETASEAL 1580 is highly effective and maintains the quality of longer-drying bonding solutions, while only taking 30 minutes for a Safe Drive Away Time (SDAT) instead of 60 minutes.”

BETASEAL™ 1580 can be applied directly to newly trimmed polyurethane beading to reduce customer drive-away times by half in temperatures between -10C and +40C.

Tony concluded: “We hope to save both time and money through this switch in adhesive, and our customers will be able to drive their vehicles sooner. The move is a win-win for everyone.”
