Auto Windscreens joins Ginetta in celebrating result at Le Mans

Tuesday, 3 Jul 2018

Ginetta is celebrating this week after making an impressive debut of its two G60-LT-P1 cars, sponsored by Auto Windscreens, at the 24 Hour of Le Mans on Saturday and Sunday.

The Mecachrome turbo V6-powered Ginettas battled against some of the best sportscar teams in the world as part of the 10-car LMP1 grid. The category featured eight new privately entered cars, pitted against factory entered Toyota Hybrids and a host of GTs and prototypes, with a field totalling 60 cars.

Despite one of the cars running out of luck in the early hours of Sunday, the other carried on strongly, eventually coming home fifth in class, with the next race at Silverstone Circuit.

The two Ginettas completed a total of 426 laps of the 13.5km circuit, over 5,800 kilometres of running.

Rupert Armitage, Auto Windscreens’ Managing Director, commented: “What a fantastic result for the team. We are hugely proud to be sponsoring these high-performance cars, which certainly turned heads as they made their debut.”
