Busiest days on record and highest volumes in April
We recorded our busiest days on record on Tuesday 11, followed by Monday 17 April. We also saw the highest volume of jobs per work day over Easter half term (3-14 April).
Vehicle glass repair and replacements increased by more than a third during this period (33.4%), compared to last year.
James MacBeth, Managing Director of Auto Windscreens said: “In the weeks leading up to half term, we were already seeing an 18.9% rise in job volumes, but the levels we saw over Easter were unprecedented. An increase in traffic on the roads as more people took day trips and holidays is likely to be a contributing factor.”
According to The Department for Transport, on Thursday 6 April 2023 traffic volumes were 101% of the levels during the first week of February 2020 (pre covid) and up 9% on Thursday 7 April last year.
James added: “I’m exceptionally proud of our whole team in ensuring this additional demand had no effect on our service levels. We’re here to get people back on the road, and that’s just what we’ll continue to do, as we look forward to the next big getaway in the summer.”
