‘Lovely jubbly’
We embraced comedy from 2001 with our parent company’s annual ‘Markerstudy Day’, helping to raise £9,733 for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
Hundreds of colleagues threw themselves into the spirit of the day and there were laughs aplenty as the team celebrated their Only Fools and Horses comedy theme with a raffle, ‘Trotter tea trolley’, quizzes, barbecue and dressing up.
James MacBeth, Managing Director, said: “Markerstudy Day this year was focused on raising a smile at a time when we’re all facing so much uncertainty in the UK and there’s great sadness further afield. Our team’s efforts to put the ‘fun’ into fundraising did not disappoint.
“The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal has been supported by our group throughout the year, so it felt right for the appeal to benefit from this annual event, too. In total, the group has raised an incredible £4,733 from their activities and Markerstudy has also donated £5,000 as part of our charity initiative, Motiv8.”
We raise thousands of pounds for charities each year, including Comic Relief, Prostate Cancer UK and Ashgate Hospicecare. Colleagues are also encouraged to use their paid ‘volunteering day’ annually and may take up to five days unpaid leave to work for a charitable cause.
