Auto Windscreens has partnered with the largest aftermarket vehicle glass provider, Pilkington Automotive Limited, in a new preferred supplier deal set to advance the windscreen repairer’s UK operations, providing an improved service.

Pilkington Automotive took over responsibility for all elements of Auto Windscreens’ glass supply in December, delivering a tailor-made solution where required parts are sent to storage locations across the UK ready for technicians to collect before attending scheduled customer appointments.

Customer benefits

  • 98% of required stock available next day for motorists
  • Streamlined customer journey from start to finish
  • Ensures efficient service for insurance and fleet partners

“It is the first time Pilkington Automotive has been appointed to handle the entire supply solution for a national glass repair company on this scale, from identifying delivery sites to handling waste glass,” said James MacBeth, Auto Windscreens’ Operations Director. “We are extremely confident that the switch to such a globally recognised glass provider will result in improvements to our overall service delivery. All their glass is manufactured to OEM standards and they are committed to next day delivery on 98% of our most needed glass products.”

Glass is ordered directly through Auto Windscreens’ workflow system when a customer reports damage that requires a new windscreen or side/rear vehicle glass. Pilkington Automotive then deliver this to UK-wide Service Stock Points daily and manage the disposal of any waste glass, such as cracked windscreens removed from cars.

Mike Rotin, Commercial Manager at Pilkington Automotive, added: “A company such as Auto Windscreens relies on an effective supply chain and we are the ideal fit, ensuring they have the glass stock needed at the right place and at the right time. We also provide an extensive support system to enable a consistent service is continually maintained.”
