Auto Windscreens Achieves Prestigious IMI Accreditation
At Auto Windscreens, we are delighted to announce that our industry-leading Training Centre has been formally approved by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). This accreditation further underscores our commitment to delivering excellence in technical training and innovation.
Our Training Centre, established in 1990 at our Chesterfield head office, is the longest-running in the industry. It has now set a new benchmark, becoming the only facility in our market to hold both IMI and GQA accreditations. This dual recognition enables us to provide comprehensive training to our technicians, equipping them with the highest standards of skills and knowledge in vehicle glass repair, replacement, and calibration.
Earlier this year, seven colleagues from our Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Training teams became the first in the UK to complete IMI’s AOM230 module, a new certification covering ADAS calibration. This accomplishment is an official entry route into IMI’s TechSafe™ recognition programme, solidifying Auto Windscreens as a trusted leader in ADAS expertise.
Tony Green, our Head of Technical Training, emphasised the significance of this milestone:
“Every one of our technicians steps through the doors of our Training Centre, benefiting from the exceptional level and quality of training we deliver. Our IMI accreditation is a milestone we are extremely proud of, and we look forward to the rest of the team, including eight regional trainers, completing the IMI AOM230 from the centre.”
Wayne Dyson, Business Development Manager at IMI, shared his enthusiasm:
“The IMI are excited to welcome Auto Windscreens as an IMI approved centre to deliver IMI ADAS accreditations. ADAS will continue to evolve rapidly, and having staff with the knowledge and skills to work on these systems is essential to meet the needs of the customer.”
This new chapter not only reinforces our dedication to investing in our team but also ensures we continue to exceed expectations in delivering industry-leading services to our valued partners.
